Road Network

The road network of the Rhodes City has mainly narrow and one-way streets (during the high season about 70,000 cars move from/to the center of per day). The Medieval Town closes for vehicles during the summer so all the traffic gathers outside the walls. Finding a parking space you need some luck during high season. Direction signings on the streets are sufficient. From the south end of the city begins E-95, the national road that connects the city with Faliraki, Lindos and the rest island.

Municipal Company of Transports "RODA"

"RODA" has the transport exploitation of the Urban area (city of Rhodes), the Surrounded areas (Koskinou – Kastri – Ialyssos – Kremasti – Pastida – Maritsa and Paradeisi) and the Long-Distance area of the Western Side of the island of Rhodes (Damatria, Theologos, Soroni, Dimylia, Eleousa, Arhipoli, Platania, Apollona, Fanes, Kalavarda, Mandriko, Kritinia, Salakos, Empona, Agios Isidoros, Sianna and Monolithos). Furthermore, "RODA" serves with special services students of all the areas that belong to its transport competence, as well as all those working in various companies and services. "RODA" also participates in every cultural event as well as in every emergency, for example, when in need of transporting members of Cultural Organisations, children from the orphans' home, participants in congresses, firemen, etc. Therefore, its main goal and purpose is to cover in the best possible way the transport of people with regular and extra bus services and participate in the sociocultural life of Rhodes.

About 400 taxis serve the Rhodes Island and can be either found in specified taxi ranks or by phone. Rhodes City has 7 taxi station that you can find them easy using the Rhodes City Map. Many night clubs as Paradiso Beach Club at Rodia Mare offers free taxi per 4 persons, just ask receptionist.

Sea Service

The city hosts four harbors; the central serves national and international traffic (ferried and cruise ships), Akandia harbor is currently in construction servicing mainly cargo ships and cruise ships on busy days, Kolona serves in-prefecture traffic and private yachts and finally Mandraki harbor services daily trips around the island and small yachts. The new Marina of the island is being constructed in the Zefyros area and will be operational by 2009.
